Every DearTiny book is backed by our 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your personalized book for any quality-related reason, we will make it right -- whether that means a full refund, a free reprint, or an exchange.

We believe in the quality of our product so strongly that we want you to have zero risk when ordering. Our goal is for every family to be thrilled with their personalized book.

The 30-day period begins on the date you receive your order (based on carrier delivery confirmation). Simply reach out to us within that window and we will take care of you.

2. What's Covered

Our 30-day guarantee covers the following issues:

• Print quality issues: Blurry or faded illustrations, poor color reproduction, smudged text, or any print quality that does not meet our standards
• Printing defects: Misaligned pages, missing pages, binding defects, damaged covers, or any manufacturing defect in the physical book
• Wrong order: If you receive a book that does not match your approved preview, including wrong story, wrong child character, or wrong customizations
• Shipping damage: Books that arrive damaged due to shipping and handling, including bent covers, torn pages, or water damage
• Character quality: If the AI-generated character does not reasonably resemble the uploaded photo of your child

3. How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is simple. Follow these steps:

1. Email us at hello@deartiny.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
2. Include your order number (found in your order confirmation email or account dashboard)
3. Briefly describe the issue you experienced with your book
4. If applicable, attach photos showing the quality issue or defect (this helps us improve and speeds up the process)

You do not need to return the physical book. We trust our customers and want to make the process as hassle-free as possible.

4. Refund Process

Once we receive your refund request, here is what to expect:

• Acknowledgment: We will confirm receipt of your request within 1 business day
• Review: Our team will review your request within 2-3 business days. For straightforward quality issues, approval is typically immediate.
• Resolution: Once approved, you will be offered your choice of a full refund to your original payment method or a free reprint of your book
• Refund timeline: Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days. Depending on your bank or credit card company, it may take an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
• Refund method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. We are unable to issue refunds to a different payment method.

5. Subscription Cancellation

DearTiny+ subscribers can cancel at any time with no cancellation fees or penalties:

• Cancel anytime: Cancel your subscription through your account settings or by emailing hello@deartiny.com. There are no long-term contracts or commitments.
• Current period access: When you cancel, you retain access to all subscriber benefits (including free shipping, merchandise discounts, and any unused book credits) until the end of your current billing period.
• Monthly subscriptions: No prorated refunds are issued for partial months. Your subscription simply does not renew at the next billing date.
• Annual subscriptions: If you cancel an annual subscription within the first 30 days, you are eligible for a prorated refund for the remaining unused months. After 30 days, the subscription continues until the end of the annual term.
• Rollover credits: Any unused rollover book credits remain available until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation takes effect, unused credits expire and cannot be refunded.

6. Exchanges & Reprints

In many cases, a reprint or exchange may be a better option than a refund, especially if you love the story but received a defective copy:

• Free reprints: If your book has a printing defect, binding issue, or shipping damage, we will reprint and reship your book at no cost to you. You do not need to return the original.
• Character corrections: If the AI character does not look right, you can upload a new photo and we will regenerate and reprint your book for free.
• Story exchanges: If you would like a different story with the same character, we can create a new book. Standard pricing applies for the new book, and the original order is eligible for a refund under our 30-day guarantee.
• Reprints: Not happy with the print quality? Contact us within 30 days and we will arrange a reprint at no extra cost.

7. Non-Refundable Items

The following items and services are not eligible for refunds:

• Digital previews: The free digital book preview is provided at no charge and is not a refundable product. The preview is intended to let you review and approve the book before ordering a printed copy.
• Custom merchandise after 30 days: Personalized merchandise (posters, mugs, stickers, t-shirts) is eligible for refund within 30 days only if the item has a manufacturing defect or does not match the approved design. After 30 days, custom merchandise is non-refundable.
• Gift cards: Purchased gift cards are non-refundable but do not expire.
• Promotional credits: Free credits, promotional offers, and bonus items have no cash value and are not refundable.
